Sad Lovers and Giants @ The Colony

Join KUTZ for Sad Lovers & Giants (1st U.S. tour!), Grave Lake, Gamine Grey & DJ Chat Noir of "This Green City".

All ages, $5-20 sliding scale (pay what you can/pay more if possible)

Sad Lovers & Giants formed in Watford, England, in 1980, and for the better part of 12 years made some of the most outstanding atmospheric postpunk music. Surely, they were legendary, but perhaps it's an obscure legend here in the U.S.A. because they never played live on this side of the pond. Fans of the Chameleons, the Cure, Bauhaus, etc., shall be transfixed by a new obsession.

M5Arts presents: Art Hotel

Join KUTZ-FM at this temporary art exhibit/project at the abandoned and slated for demolition Jade Hotel, located at 7th and L Streets in Sacramento, CA.

The Jade, a former hotel and SRO (single room/residency occupancy) apartment building is slated to be demolished for renovation in the Spring 2016. Its lifespan, in its current state, is temporary. Throughout the month of January, two months before its scheduled demise, various artists will transform the building, and its 14 rooms, kitchens, hallways and restrooms into an immersive, temporary, multi-discipline art exhibit.

The show will open on Friday, February 5th, and close on Saturday, February 13th, forever.

KUTZ-FM staff will be present and exhibiting at opening night, Friday February 5th. Please join us at this amazing event.
